NRS Resilient Seated Gate Valve
NRS stands for Non-Rising Stem, which is the core feature of this resilient seated gate valve. It is a widely used on-off pipeline valve specially designed for water supply, drainage and general industrial fluid systems, adopting full rubber soft sealing structure to achieve zero leakage tight shutoff performance.
The valve stem does not extend upward when opening or closing the valve, which greatly saves installation space and avoids space obstruction caused by exposed long stems. Compared with rising stem gate valves, NRS type is more suitable for underground buried installation, narrow valve wells and compact pipeline layout environments.
Working Principle
The internal gate plate is fully wrapped with integrated elastic rubber lining. When the valve closes, the rubber lining on the gate closely fits the valve body sealing surface under medium pressure, forming a reliable soft seal to block fluid passage completely. During opening, the gate moves downward inside the valve body while the stem only rotates without axial lifting, and the flow channel inside the valve becomes fully straight through with minimal flow resistance, effectively reducing pipeline energy loss.
Built-in stem sealing packing and anti-corrosion protection structure prevent medium leakage along the stem, and the internal guide ribs keep the gate moving vertically without offset, ensuring stable opening and closing operation for long-term continuous use.
Main Advantages
Non-rising stem design occupies less vertical space, perfectly matching buried pipeline and compact valve chamber installation requirements.
Full resilient rubber sealing realizes bubble-tight shutoff under rated working pressure, no dripping leakage, meeting strict drinking water engineering standards.
Straight through flow passage brings low fluid resistance, reduces pipeline operating power consumption and avoids medium deposition inside the valve cavity.
Integrated rubber coated gate has good wear resistance and anti-corrosion performance, compatible with clean water, reclaimed water and mild neutral industrial water.
Compact integral ductile iron valve body with epoxy coating resists underground moisture, soil corrosion and pipeline medium erosion.
Simple internal structure with fewer wearing parts, convenient disassembly, inspection and on-site maintenance without complex tools.
Clear opening and closing indicator on the top bonnet visually displays valve working state for easy operation management.
Material Composition
The valve body and bonnet are made of high toughness ductile iron with fusion bonded epoxy powder coating on inner and outer surfaces to enhance anti-rust and anti-corrosion capacity. The gate plate is ductile iron substrate fully vulcanized with EPDM rubber, which features excellent elasticity, aging resistance and food grade safety for potable water projects. The valve stem is stainless steel with anti-rust and wear-resistant property, matched with durable EPDM packing to prevent stem leakage. All connecting fasteners adopt stainless steel material to avoid rust locking after long-term underground burial.
Technical Parameters
Nominal diameter ranges from DN50 to DN1200 to meet different pipeline flow demands. Standard pressure grades include PN10 and PN16, customized PN25 specification is available for high-pressure transmission pipelines. Flange connection complies with international standard dimensions for easy matching with common pipeline fittings. Applicable medium temperature ranges from -10°C to 70°C, mainly applicable to tap water, municipal sewage, agricultural irrigation water and industrial circulating neutral water. All products pass standard hydraulic pressure test before delivery to guarantee stable sealing and structural strength.
Application Scope
This NRS resilient seated gate valve is the preferred cut-off valve for municipal water supply pipe networks, buried urban drainage pipelines, agricultural irrigation systems, pump station matching pipelines, water treatment plants and community building water supply projects. It can be installed horizontally or vertically and adapts to various outdoor buried and indoor pipeline working conditions, effectively controlling fluid on-off and protecting the safe operation of the entire pipeline system.
